Wood Tavern is one of the top restaurants in Oakland, right on the Berkeley border. The cocktails are fabulous, and the menu has something for everyone. The pastrami sandwich at lunchtime is a real bargain bite! It's hard to get a reservation so check before going!

Excellent spot for weekend brunch. I stopped by on a Saturday and was surprised to see that it was not that busy. There is a lot to choose from, so it was overwhelming, but I went with the beef skewers and rice. It was cooked well, and came with a small salad to compliment it. The portion was small, but filling for an early meal. Service good, and I enjoyed it!

This is a BBQ joint located in Jack London Square. We ordered two combination platters amongst 5 people and it was loads of food! The ribs and brisket were good. We didn't care for the chicken; it was dry, and the sausage links were okay. The corn bread muffins were way too sweet and the Mac and Cheese was just OK. Same goes for the beans and macaroni salad. There's definitely better BBQ good to be had.
