Great old school but hip German restaurant in Alameda. They have a nice beer garden outside or a traditional looking restaurant inside. The food is delicious and there are plenty of German beers on tap. This place is great for groups! We've come here a lot for parties and it is perfect.

Great food! Service is kind of slow in the dining room. The margaritas are delicious and strong - made with lemon juice instead of a bunch of triple sec... Saturday brunch has bottomless mimosas! I personally like the mole and their chips and salsa rock!

Great food and great service! There was a line to get to the hostess but we lucked out and only had to wait 10 mins if that for a table. Don't let the line deter you. It is worth the wait!

Tip: Tea leaf salad is a must!

Ole's Waffle Shop is not in Oakland, but it's definitely worth the bike ride (do it for the calories). The shop is a vintage one, full of nostalgic memories, black and white employee photos and 60's style décor. They serve breakfast all day and the famous waffles are the star of the show.
