Enjoy a drive to see the beautiful mountains. Stop along the way for a picnic or a walk to stretch your legs.

The Parkway is a wonderful adventure. One of my favorite places to visit from Spring thru Fall is the Pisgah Inn. Unfortunately, it is closed for the winter from November thru March. Great food, good prices, and an amazing view!

Whether you travel by car, motorcycle to road bike the Blue Ridge Parkway is absolutely breathtaking, especially when the leaves start changing colors in the fall!

Great for all levels of hikers. Tons of trails and the scenery is amazing. The drive up will leave you wanting more. A must see in asheville

Anne M

Fantastic scenery with great driving, bicycling and hiking options. Driving North toward Craggy Gardens for truly breath-taking views and scenery.

My favorite place to explore! Awe-inspiring views along a road that skirts the Appalachian mountain tops from Georgia to Virginia, and we are lucky enough to have it go right through Asheville! Plenty of hiking trails to explore. Couldn't recommend it more highly - love it!

Great any time of year. Springtime means hiking to waterfalls. In the Summer you will find yourself exploring trailheads for picnicking, hiking and backpacking. In the Fall, the beauty of the BRP in the glory of Autumn rivals the colors of New England.

Miles and miles of beautiful scenery. #1 most visited National Park in the USA. And best of all-it's free!!

Chris P

No prettier drive. Less than 2 miles from my place (Jonas Ridge road) Makes for easy drive to Blowing Rock (19 miles)

Michelle Erkens

Great historical piece for adventurous people! Many pull offs along the way. Truck stops and bathroom stops all along the way. Picnic areas.

Kelly J

Take some time to just drive on the parkway heading west and you will enjoy some amazing views. There are also great trails and waterfalls worth stopping at for a hike.

There are many access points to the BRP and the closest to the Cottage is only 6 miles away near the Asheville Arboretum.
Whether you turn north or south at the entrance to the BRP, you will be delighted in driving on one of the most beautiful roads in all the world. We will often take the longer route to visit places just so we can drive the BRP. No matter your destination or the time of day or year, remember to take a camera because every turn and tunnel exit is likely to take your breath away.

The Blue Ridge Parkway isn't called "Americas Favorite Drive" for nothing. This scenic highway covers 469 miles of the most majestic views that can be seen from a car. We are fortunate to have several access points near our condo. Easy access from highway 321 in Blowing Rock or off highway 221 in Linville. This is a highlight for any visit to the high country.

Loved driving the parkway while I attend WCU! It runs all the way to Cherokee! Just hop on and drive.

Heather Pitt

SO BEAUTIFUL. I love driving up and down the blue ridge parkway and taking in the gorgeous views.

Don't limit your drive only to the daylight hours. The BRP can also be magical after dark. Just beware of the bears when driving.

Bonnie & John L

Such a relaxing and beautiful drive! Blue Ridge Parkway winds through parts of Asheville NC so exit off every so often to enjoy Asheville.

Susan P

15 minutes from the house is the Blue Ridge Parkway for scenic drives or a multitude of areas that have wonderful hiking trails.
