This is one of Austin best gourmet Sushi locations the finest dinning in the area, getting ready to take your pallet to the next level of taste I'm talking Octopus on a stick to California rolls and all fresh everyday shipped directly from Japan.

Due to high ratings, I've visited three times to make up my mind about uchi. Good, sometimes great sushi but was never blown away. Usually always busy. Make a reservation. Intimate environment.

Amazing sushi. It's up there against anything you'll have in San Fran, NYC or elsewhere. They don't take reservations and it can get crowded. Valet parking avail. Their sister restaurant Uchi Co on Lamar is much less crowded, similar menu.

The food is so good - sushi especially, but everything else, too. The staff is very informative and friendly - they are there for you to ask a million questions and not be annoyed by it. Uchi caters to vegans and vegetarians very well. Their vegan sushi was amazing!

Shelby S

The best sushi anywhere in the world in my opinion. Reservations must be made or expect a 2 hr. wait. Doors open at 5pm. WALKING DISTANCE :)

The ambiance gets an A, but the food gets an A+. Uchi is well established on South Lamar, and has been serving top quality fish for years. I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar, so I can watch them work. They have a nice little wine bar section as well.

Definitely one of, if not the best, sushi places in Austin. On the more expensive side, but extremely worth it, always packed but there is always great service and great food!

Kathleen R

MMMMMMMMMMMmmmmmmm. I love sushi! This is pricey but delicious with some strikingly interesting dishes that are new! Try to get reservations and go during happy hour when select dishes are half off. 5-630.

Alice A

Amazing food. Can be a little difficult to get a reservation but the happy hour is great.

I would give Uchi five stars, but the noise level is so high, I can't. BUT, the food
is fantastic, so just wear earplugs and have a totally zen experience eating this
amazing food in silence! There is a current Brussel Sprout craze that has been going on for a while, and being a brussel sprout lover I have tried them everywhere, but at Uchi, they are divine. The first taste and you are lost, or found!
You will not want to share. For someone who has never even tasted a Brussel Sprout, this will be a subliminal maiden voyage. It goes without saying that all of
the dishes offered are impeccable, but just wait until you get to dessert…….
All I can say, is lemon, peanut, lemon, peanut, lemon, peanut, take the dare…..!

Walk to Uchi, consistently ranked one of the best restaurants in the US. And check out their happy hour... it's an unbeatable deal!

Highly recommended to for a Luxury Sushi Fusion experience. Located on South Lamar.

Best sushi in town. They have super fresh fish and innovative sashimi and sushi rolls. Its a bit pricy and reservations are highly recommended unless you go before 6 pm.

Be prepared to wait for the best sushi in Austin. 1 mile away. You will probably see a celebrity or two

Holly W

happy hour starts at 5, they have great specials, you have to get there right at 5 to get a seat!

Mimosa Chloe

Life Changing. Do yourself a favor and go here. Get the tasting, and sit back and enjoy the ride.
That is all.

Susan H

One of the top rated restaurants located in Austin, Tx. less than a mile away.

Dale C

You probably would want to use a car or a pedicab to get to Uchi, but the trip is well worth it. Fusion cuisine (merging the best tastes and ingredients of more than one culture in creative and tasty ways) at its finest. This restaurant deservedly shows up in all the best guides to great food.

Gregory S

One of the best restaurants in Austin - Amazing Sashimi and Fusion / Japanese food.

Daisy Tran

The best Japanese fusion restaurant you'll ever go to! Chef Tyson Cole really knows what he's doing! Once you try his food, you'll understand why his protege, Paul Qui, won his season of Top Chef. The food here is so elegant with flavor combinations you would have never thought of. Some of my favorites there were their foie gras nigiri and strawberry foie gras dessert. The place can be a little pricey though, but luckily they have happy hour! And you don't have to sit at the bar to get the happy hour deals! This will be my first stop next time I come back to Austin!
