A great place to take a break from the bustling downtown. Large open space make this a great place to play soccer or frisbee.

Robert Rodriguez

Perfect for picnics, pick-up volleyball games, hike and bike trail, paddle boarding/ kayaking. Checkout summer music series (Blues on the Green), ACL music festival, Kite festival, and many other weekend family festivals. Restaurants with great atmosphere and drinks walking distance.

A nice escape from the city. So green and perfect on a nice day. Cute dogs everywhere, easy to get to the ladybird lake path, and there are volleyball courts. Great for a picnic or just to lay in the sun :)

This is a beautiful park and home to my favorite place in Austin, Barton Springs Pool, which is a public swimming pool fed by water form the nearby natural springs. The park itself is really nice to stroll as well with ample trails.

Lindsay R

A beautiful park just a few miles down the road. Great for a game of frisbee or to take your dog.

Barton Springs pool is located at Zilker Park. The Moontower from Dazed and Confused is in Zilker and you can see it if you go to Barton Springs. Austin City Limits Festival is held at Zilker. Great place to go walking/jogging, play disc golf. Go!

Fun to hang out on a nice day with a hammock or blanket. Lots of people, dogs, frisbee & soccer games!

Bring a football, frisbee, or just a blanket and chill out int his lovely green area of Austin. Rent a kayak, go to Barton springs, or run the trail- right around Zilker Park! bring the kids to the Zilker Zephyr- train for a fun ride around the park.

Melody Lowe

Rated the #1 best city park in the country by USA Today, this Austin gem offers 351 acres of green to run, play catch with your dog, throw a Frisbee, ride a train and so much more. Little tikes will love the Zilker Zephyr, the train that choo-choos around the park. Tickets to ride are just $2 for kids and $3 for adults. There is also the Umlauf Sculpture Garden (kids under 11 get in for free, $5 for adults), Zilker Hillside Theatre (free!), Zilker Botanical Garden ($1 for kids, $2 for residents, $3 for non-residents) and Barton Springs ($3 for residents, $8 for non-residents). During the holidays, take a spin under the large Christmas tree made up of 3,309 lights and walk through the famous Trail of Lights.

Always fun to have a picnic here and just watch the city, people, and pets have a great time outdoors

Molly Wardlaw

Out lovely, very Texas park. Don't expect something super manicured. But it's lovely.

Tiffany Z

Zilke really park is dog heaven! Bringing your poochie here after a week hanging out around the apartment is just the treat your Fido needs. Dogs run free and drama free! Great trails to walk near the river. Grab a canoe, paddleboard or grab a blanket and chill in the sun. Bring your picnic lunch or grab a bite at the food cart nearby!

Trinidad M

Great place for frisbee throwing, kite flying, picnics, sun bathing, yoga, soccer, football, catch, rugby, fitness camps, stretching, relaxing, running, baby's first time at Zilker Park, seeing downtown views from "the rock", or doing absolutely nothing at all. Zilker park is a place for fresh air just minutes from downtown. What used to be a busy soccer complex and where the annual Austin City Limits festival is held is also an Austin City staple for people from all over the globe!

Shelby S

One of the city's gems! Zilker park is walking distance from our house - take the dog, bring some toys (kite, soccer ball, volleyball, frisbee etc.) & pack a picnic! Plan to walk from here because cars can get jammed up trying to get there! You will see an amazing view of the city skyline from the Southwest end of the park.
